![]() I use this driver and it works pretty well: I like how small this adapter is, but it does get very hot during use and there are probably better overall options (still looking). I had to compile kernels to get it working with Raspbian, Alpine Linux and Arch Linux. ![]() I use the Rosewill RNX-AC600UB (RTL8811AU) with my B+. It's very important to me to get a Raspberry Pi working with a dual-band dongle, since I'm working on a project that will connect the RPi through WiFi in an environment that will be overcrowded with other devices working at 2.4GHz (bluetooth and WiFi). There's three people in there claiming that the adapter worked "out-of-the-box" with Raspberry Pi (I assume Raspbian).Ĭan anyone share any experience at all with a 5GHz dongle with the RPi? I also found this USpeed Dual-Band dongle in Amazon: (I think that's the only WiFi dongle that supports 5GHz in the whole list?) There's one device using the same AR7010 chip that is actually in the supported list: I saw this tutorial from someone claiming to be able to use a Virgin-branded WNDA3200 (Atheros AR7010 chipset) with Raspbian: I would also like to know if anyone ever succeeded in getting a 5GHz dongle working with the RPi.
